Her perennial Yuletide classic All I Want for Christmas Is You has made her queen of the holiday period. Carey, 54, announced Christmas tour starting at the end of the month and running into December with a launch video. She is dressed in a red Santa outfit but enclosed initially in a block of ice. Four people, clad in classic horror movie costumes, aim hairdryers at the ice to free her. Just before she merges she breaks out into one of her high C notes. As the ice shatters she declares:” "It's time!” The video ends with Carey dancing to her 1994 seasonal classic as snow falls. It has has become a modern standard and finally went to No. 1 in 2019. She has used the tune to tap into a persona as the "Queen of Christmas.” Carey 's tour is called Merry Christmas One and All!And features 13 dates.
