La maison Henry Aldridge & Son vend aux enchères des reliques de passagers du Titanic. Pictures MUST credit: Henry Aldridge & Son A blanket used on a lifeboat to keep victims of the Titanic disaster warm as they awaited rescue, is set to fetch £100,000 GBP at auction. The amazing piece of memorabilia from the liner's sinking in April 1912, originates from Titanic owner White Star Line's former vice president Frederick Toppin. The blanket, 150cm square, for first class passengers, is woven in a red, green, brown and russet tartan. The reverse is navy blue with bold cream and pale red check and embroidered White Star logo in one corner. Following the disaster, New York based Toppin took on the responsibility for looking after the needs of survivors. When one of the Titanic passenger rescue ships the Carpathia docked in New York, Toppin was at the pier where he acquired the blanket. It is being sold by UK auction house Henry Aldridge & Son
