David Lisnard, le maire de Cannes) et Mickaëlle Paty ont inauguré la «Place Samuel Paty» située devant le lycée Carnot à Cannes, 29 janvier 2024. À cette occasion, une plaque commémorative a été dévoilée pour entretenir la mémoire de Samuel, défendre les valeurs de la République française et lutter contre l'islamisme et le fanatisme religieux quel qu'il soit. Samuel Paty, professeur d'histoire-géographie, est assassiné par arme blanche et décapité peu après être sorti de son collège de Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. L'assassin, Abdoullakh Anzorov, est un citoyen russe d'origine tchétchène âgé de 18 ans et qui bénéficie du statut de réfugié, accordé à ses parents alors qu'il était mineur. On this occasion, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to keep Samuel's memory alive, defend the values of the French Republic and fight against Islamism and religious fanaticism of any kind. Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, was stabbed to death and decapitated shortly after leaving his school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. The murderer, Abdoullakh Anzorov, was an 18-year-old Russian citizen of Chechen origin who had been granted refugee status by his parents when he was a minor. He was shot dead by the police a few minutes after the attack.
