Opis:
Rome, Musei Capitolini. - The colossus of Emperor Constantine was reconstructed by Fondazione Prada, Factum Foundation and the Capitoline museum. The statue, twelve meters high, arrived from Milan: the final installation work is underway and it will then be exhibited to the public next to the original fragments, ten in total. These include the face, the hand with the index finger also pointing towards the sky, the emperor's foot, the elbow. From these we started to create the reproduction of the statue which is a facsimile in polyurethane treated with layers of resin. But the most surprising thing is to discover that it was made with 3D printing. The reconstruction is a hypothesis by the historian and archaeologist Salvatore Settis, curator of the Recycling Beauty exhibition presented last year at the Prada Foundation in Milan, while the recomposition is by Factum Foundation for Digital Technology in Preservation. 01/02/2024, Credit:Riccardo De Luca / Avalon
