Dans le cadre de ses fonctions de défenseur des Objectifs de développement durable (ODD) pour les Nations unies, la souveraine a rencontré le président de Côte d'Ivoire, A.Ouattara et la première dame de Côte d'Ivoire, D.Ouattara. En la compagnie de cette dernière, la reine Mathilde a visité l'Hopital Mère-Enfant à Bingerville.
