Tiny flexible and highly responsive sensors that are activated by magnets, The sensors are seamlessly integrated into the textile, with their position indicated by dyeing or embroidering. These act as touchless controls. The user wears an index finger ring containing a small magnet. The ring emits a magnetic field that affects the resistance of each sensor. A linked microprocessor is then able to determine the position of the finger in the space above the sleeve. Different finger positions and movements can be assigned to different commands, which are relayed to a wirelessly linked electronic device to be controlled. In the prototype system, the wearer is able to turn to either side or move forward in a virtual reality game environment using simple finger gestures. Picture supplied by JLPPA
