Pictures must credit: NBC Superstar Elton John has admitted he was riddled with self-doubt when making an album with US singer Brandi Carlile. Elton,78, said he went into the studio with the 43-year-old and his long time songwriting partner Bernie Taupin plus a producer. But there was no material written and Rocket Man Elton admitted there was a lot of tension the first few days. He and Carlile appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the US to promote their album, titled Who Believes in Angels ? Elton , who has known Carlile for 20 years, told Fallon:”We went into the studio in Los Angeles with nothing. "Bernie Taupin, me, Brandi, Andrew Watt, the producer. "So four of us went into the studio with nothing.” He said there was no pre-planned music and nothing written. Carlile said: "That was a requirement of Elton's." Elton went on: I've never gone in with three other people, on a project like this where we were all equal. "And so towards the beginning of the sessions, we were very testy because I was very tired, I was exhausted, I was so plagued with doubt and nerves and worry ." Picture supplied by JLPPA
