Picture MUST credit: Basura / Yerba Madre A pair of shoes made of compacted dirt and seeds are designed to break down as the wearer walks — planting wildflowers. The Dirt Shoes were created by US design practice Basura for New York beverage company Yerba Madre as part of a rebrand campaign. The shoes are made from compacted dirt, tree sap, plant fibres, and wildflower seeds. They are made to slowly disintegrate, breaking down underfoot and scattering seeds into the soil, allowing native wildflowers to grow in the footsteps of the wearer. The shoes are entirely biodegradable by design. Yerba Madre chief marketing officer Emily Kortlang said: "Dirt Shoes are a statement of regeneration, circularity, and commitment to give more back to the planet than we take.” Picture supplied by JLPPA
