Picture MUST credit: Katy Perry A company behind a music video by US pop star Katy Perry has been fined for filming the promo with her in a protected area of Spain without permission. TheFirework singer , 40, was filming for her single Lifetimes last July in the Ses Salines Natural Park on the Balearic Islands. At the time, the Balearic Islands government said an investigation was underway after it emerged the video was filmed in a protected area without necessary permissions. Parts of Katy's Lifetime video were reportedly filmed within the dunes on the islet of S'Espalmador, located within the Unesco World Heritage nature reserve that spans the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. The environmental agency clarified that "in no case had the production company" sought permission to shoot in the Ses Salines National Park. The park, which covers the south of Ibiza bd the north of its neighbour Formentera and the sea between them, is protected for its rich biodiversity. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Natural Environment said a preliminary investigation for possible environmental damage had been launched against production company WeOwnTheCity. The firm was given a €6,001 Euros fine, according to Majorca Daily Bulletin. Which has been paid. Officials said there was no lasting damage to the area.
