The new Swan Song mural brings life, vibrant colours & champions cleaner rivers. A new mural has been painted by The Henley College Art Foundation students with the help of street artist, Andrew Manson (Mani) in partnership with Henley Town Council on the hoardings surrounding the old Youth Centre site on Deanfield Avenue. The students have been working with Mani over the last few weeks to come up with a design that raises the awareness of the Council's ongoing campaign for improved river quality. The students worked in 2 teams to come with two different designs that were put forward to the landowner B&M Care Homes for them to choose one. The mural has taken 3 days to complete. It goes from a dystopian world which is meant to show the effects of the river before we keep it clean. Trying to highlight keeping the water quality good. Keep our rivers clean. Get a greener and more cleaner looking Henley so is the swan gradual piece that is driving that. There are some of bits Henley's iconography in there like the yellow submarine, which is a nod to George Harrison, Leander hippos, rowing, Henley bridge etc., Credit:Geoffrey Swaine / Avalon
