Picture MUST credit: BalenX An exoskeleton has been designed to help medics carry stretchers up and down flights of stairs. Carrying a stretcher down stairs or across rough ground puts both patient and rescuers under serious strain. The BalenX Stretcher Balancer concept has been designed to help overcome those problems. The Balancer is a simple exoskeleton add-on that works with most standard stretchers. The kit consists of front and rear backpack-style stabilisers and a Bluetooth controller. The built-in stabilisers maintain patient stability on the stretcher, reducing the risk of secondary injuries during transport. The kit's gripping mechanism firmly locks the stretcher in place during transport, keeping the patient level and reducing the physical burden on rescuers. Adjustable height settings improve manoeuvrability, allowing rescuers to focus on patient care and navigating the environment without the added strain of manual handling, enhancing overall rescue performance.
